Design of bioprocess facilities – Layout rules and configurations

Date: Wednesday May 10 2017
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT US
Duration: 90 minutes – Online
Price: $ 279 – Includes bonus documents!

Description of the course:

Expansions and renovations to existing biological facilities – and the construction of new facilities – provide a unique opportunity to rethink basic design strategies and use new technologies to build a better facility that will reduce costs and improve compliance. This webinar will discuss how processes and regulations are changing the design paradigm of modern biotechnology facilities and processes.

There are several variables that must be taken into account in the development of a biopharmaceutical facility, and many of these variables are interrelated. The adoption of modern systems and process techniques allows a change in the balance of these variables to allow smaller and more flexible installations. This will include the elimination of many utility areas, allow for rapid product / process change, greater product integrity and increased compliance. This webinar will explore modern facility design options and configurations, as well as the realities of building a facility around today’s processing technology.

Join us for this 90-minute, live webinar where you will learn:

  • What impact will single-use systems (SUS) have on facility design
  • Basic principles of plant layout
  • Rules and layout options
  • The three main basic layout designs for any modern biotechnology design
  • How to develop smaller, flexible facilities that will allow your operations to grow painlessly

Learning objectives

This course will be useful to anyone involved in the production, engineering or quality operations of a biotechnology facility or to a team member assigned to a new biotechnology project. Additionally, those communicating internally with the engineering or operations personnel responsible for the new production will find this course extremely beneficial.
